When Aesca Lampi wakes up in the form of her character from Eldest Fantasy Wars Online, she's annoyed by the historical inaccuracies. (Video-game-style scrolls? Really?) That is, until a building collapses on top of her, revealing she's on a fantastical island centered around the impossibly tall, glowing Tower of Aetherius . . . with an array of dangerous creatures—including jaguar hybrids, velociraptors, and giant, flesh-eating lizards—in the way. Publisher's summary
Through hellish training, Arc became a hero—reaching the pinnacle of strength in the world of Arlas.
Arc was an ordinary young woman from Earth when she was summoned to an icy hell where she fought for her survival in the name of training to become a hero.
Now, after defeating the Overlord itself and achieving the status of hero, she leaves with the goal of enjoying her freedom. She arrives at Arlas, a fantasy world with magic and monsters, a world with numbers, tiers, and classes, a world governed by the System that summoned her.
She is not alone. There are other heroes, masters of their element, warped individuals who have escaped their own hell. And they have their own agenda, from taking over the world to even killing other heroes.
But Arc isn't any hero; she's the one who mastered the element of frost, the element of ice that can even freeze the sense of time itself. And when confronted with an incomprehensible task of broken letters—to fulfill her duties as a hero for the broken System—she makes her decision.
To live a normal life, fight whoever comes her way, and ignore whatever the delusional System says. As for the heroes? She will fight them, too, if they dare to stand in her way.
Join Arc as she explores the world of Arlas, a place dominated by the same System that summoned her in the first place, a world with classes, levels, and magic. Watch her explore the world and take on terrifying foes with her ice abilities that can freeze anything. This isekai series features a badass overpowered main character and intriguing worldbuilding. Arc's story has great character moments and exciting and satisfying battles with monsters and other heroes alike.

Author’s Note: This novel is “LitRPG Lite,” which means that it does not give explicit stats, levels, etc., but it is very much RPG-inspired fantasy literature, in which characters acquire items and weapons and spells, gain experience and increase in power by fighting and defeating enemies, and obtain quests that require them to venture into dungeons and fight monsters and defeat bosses, with the ultimate goal of defeating a final boss. I would say that the inspiration for this novel comes more from games than from novels: what directly inspired this book is Final Fantasy and Dungeons...

Story
Author’s Note: This novel is “LitRPG Lite,” which means that it does not give explicit stats, levels, etc., but it is very much RPG-inspired fantasy literature, in which characters acquire items and weapons and spells, gain experience and increase in power by fighting and defeating enemies, and obtain quests that require them to venture into dungeons and fight monsters and defeat bosses, with the ultimate goal of defeating a final boss. I would say that the inspiration for this novel comes more from games than from novels: what directly inspired this book is Final Fantasy and Dungeons...

Oh, and my mind has a tendency to see what others are thinking. Now, amongst airships, beautiful beastkin, floating continents and telepathic powers, I’ll have to pick a side to fight for. When I do, I'll have to prove my loyalty, my skill, and play my part in saving this world from an evil that crossed from my world into this one. On the ground, I’m just a man, but in the air, I’m as powerful as a dragon.

Story???
This feels a bit trampled, like the story has been told before and is told over and over again in this story.
I like a good OPMC, but what's the point of this story? There doesn't feel like there's enough background information to really be invested in the world she's in or the other characters. Hmmm... I'm going to have to think on this one a bit before I decide if I want to read the next one.

Generic Isekai
Not really anything new. Generic storyline for the most part. Op Mc, generic system, the characters are a little bland.

bland, it's alright
all the characters lack character. Events are just boring. If you want this story done right, read the "level zero hero" instead. Same story but with STORY lol.

I wanted to like it...
This had all the ingredients of a fun and enjoyable book, but its hobbled by choppy dialogue and an MC that is inconsistent. I understand that the "heros" are all inconsistent and mentally troubled since they have been put through a lot of trauma, and that makes them interesting as side characters or enemies, it does not make for a good MC imo. Honestly a lot of MCs are dumb or at least self delusional so that their stories are easier to right, and I can get past some of that, but this one had that and a bit of an unstable mentality.
Also the narrator was ok, but most of her male voices sounded like she was talking with her teeth together. I found it irritating after a bit. Maybe paired with a decent male narrator for those parts would be better.

Horrible
I can't make it more than 1/4 of the way through this dumpster fire. It is like a photocopy of a photocopy of a book that was already never that good to begin with. Seriously, this is basically the product of someone with no writing skill and no life experience reading a bunch of mediocre litrpg and deciding that, yes, they could make it worse if they really tried. What really put me over the edge was the super awkward and nonsensical character interactions and reactions. It is as if the author grew up home schooled in their parent's basement and never had a single conversation with another live human being ever. You have been warned.

Couldn't listen to any more.
I gave this a try becuse I usually like op mc stories. Unfortunately, nobody in this story talks, acts, or thinks like a believable person. I made it through about half of the listen before I realized I was wasting my time and gave up.

Meh
Story is bad but not terrible. But the dialogue is god-awful like God damn it sounds like two people having a conversation from text but they're only using the middle suggestion from their phones keyboard that's how bad it is all of the characters intelligence drops down to like f****** 10-year-olds when they're talking to the FMC. in the MC herself is completely unlikable not even like a blank slate I don't know her unlikable she says God awful as well bro like she doesn't make sense there is about seven times where she says I am going to try to keep my rank a secret then 2 minutes later exposes her ring or shows off something that's way above the rank that she says she is in this point it's not even 20% into the book literally the first person she needs she tells her secret too like a f****** child that just can't wait to gossip constantly saying "you really want to know my rank now do you really want to know my rank now?" like bro shut the f****** up you say you're not going to tell it so don't tell it.

Failed to make OPMC fun somehow
Nothing new in the first couple hours. Just very cookie cutter junk. MC is a blank wall who lets people just push her along. Dialogue is just the MC contemplating what to say for 3 minutes then asking why cooked food is better than raw food like it’s some divine revelation.
In OPMC stories the main focus is always the MC and their powers. Arcs power is to… get this… freeze stuff oh and also shoot ice spikes. Truly unheard of never before seen stuff. At least it isn’t fireball I guess.
Grand displays of power are the norm for the genre. Amazingly detailed accounts of how the MCs attacks work and affect the world around them. They’re supposed to be followed by shock, awe, fear, and pride in the MC. In this book we get “She throws a snowball, kills 1000 monsters sieging a town, then the nearby humans call her a murderer and get really to attack her.” Honestly I summarized there and still think it was better than listening to the original scene.
2 stars because it’s a functioning product, with flaws.
Just go read any other fantasy book. Like seriously any other one. Or reread one if you have to.
